From last year to this year, I tutored 10+ students in designing their study abroad portfolios. As a tutor, my main task is to improve or stimulate their ideas and teach them effective and personalized portfolio storytelling.

At the same time, I also gained 2-3 students who gave me energy. Their active thinking and strong practical ability also made me reflect on my shortcomings as a designer. In getting along with them, some perspectives were re-realized as well:

Try more new AI tools to improve personal productivity: Having never drawn a web page, she referred to her favorite web page forms, used plug-ins to transfer to Figma, and focused more on writing project-related website information. All The design only took 5 hours. It was she who asked me to try Framer.

Try best to promote the concreteness of the concept: architectural 3D printing, modeling, explosion drawings, all things that seemed to be done by undergraduates, but a high school student thought she should try it, so she realized it.

Media and forms are up to worth exploring: business software or platforms are becoming more mature, and the product/interaction designers who serve them are gradually becoming like assembly line workers. The only interesting thing may be that some new businesses will be exposed to different information, which also makes me The past few years have been focused on information interaction; working on projects with students has allowed me to experiment with new media that may not make sense, but are fun.
